With the help of Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) the Scott County School District has secured a $900,000 grant for a child intervention program that helps students who may have fallen behind in certain areas in school.

Keeping the roads of Mississippi clean for some residents in the county has become an annual tradition.

Patsy Lou Ridings Robertson, age 81, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Visitation was  held Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, MS from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services were held February 8 at 10:00 a.m.
