Our community is deeply saddened by the transition of Rev. Neal Keeton, Sr. who passed Sunday, January 13th at Select Hospital in Jackson with his wife, Dialene at his side.  Rev. Keeton was pastor of Mt. Carmel M. B. Church and he was scheduled to celebrate his 15th anniversary the day he died. Our prayers are with his family and friends.




Residents Share Christmas Cheer and Gifts to honor Christ’s Birth

Our community is saddened by the death of retired Forest Head Start employee, Ms. Shirley Ann Harper, who transitioned December 18th. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, December 29th at 11:00 at the Reach One on One Center. Repast will follow at the Forest Services Center where Ms.






Chris Gilmer, inaugurated as West Virginia University’s 17th president

Our prayers are with the family of the late Mrs. Mary Reed.  Memorial services will be Saturday, December 1st at Union Grove M. B. Church at 11:00.  Visitation will begin Friday, November 30th from noon until 6:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at Union Grove M. B. Church from 10:00 until 11:00.





World War II Veteran Albert Moore recuperates at Lackey

Our hearts are heavy following the news of the transition of Rev. J. F. McRee who passed Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the home of his niece in New Orleans. Rev. McRee was pastor of Lynch Chapel for many years and was very active in the civil rights movement. He was one of the original founders of CDGM Head Start in the early 1960’s.
