Dr. Howard D. Clark was born to Leonard McKinley Clark and Dicie Culpepper Clark on January 22, 1927, in Perry County, Mississippi. He passed away on February 10, 2020 at the age of 93 at his residence in Morton, Mississippi.

The Scott County election officials and the Circuit Clerk's office are working to complete the final Scott County tallies and certify the results of the November 5, general election. County officials released the unofficial results today and inlcude all ballots cast electronically via voting machine.
Tuesday morning a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 20 that included five law enforcement agencies, and traveled through Rankin and Scott Counties ended just past the Highway 501 bridge over I-20. After over 30 miles of pursuit, an FPD officer deployed a Tire Deflation Device which finally immobilized the fleeing vehicle.

The runoff election results listed below are unofficial. Scott County election officials must tally all absentee votes and affivdavit votes before the election can be certified. There are approximately 100 absentee ballots that will be counted this morning.

The unofficial election results for the City of Forest Ward-1 Alderman race have been announced by election officials. Yesterday’s election yielded no majority for one candidate. There will be a runoff election between Yolanda White and Dewaun Walker on August 6.
Due to the possibility of heavy rain, Run Forest Run has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 18.
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) issued a water contact advisory Tuesday for a section of Pelahatchie Creek near the City of Morton (see attached map). The advisory is issued for Pelahatchie Creek from Highway 13 at Morton to where the creek crosses Highway 80 near the Town of Clarkburg.
