VFW Post 4974, located on Hwy. 80 across the street from King Lumber, is sponsoring Free Lunch on the 4th Thursday of each month starting January 24. East Central Community College in Decatur will close all offices for the Christmas holidays beginning Wednesday, Dec. 12. Offices will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.

Forest United Methodist Church will host their “free” Thanksgiving lunch on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22 in the Family Life Center. Everyone is welcome whether they just need a good meal or need to share the fellowship with loved ones and friends. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Homecoming at Luther Chapel Luthern Church. November 4 at 11:00 a.m. with dinner afterwards. The program will be discussing the history of Luther Church which is celebrating 161 years of service to the people of Wicker Mill and Homewood areas. Rev. David Goree will be the guest pastor.
