The Sebastopol Public Library will have a bus to “stuff” with school supplies throughout July. Donate in any way you can to help students who may not be able to get what they need for the new school year. Tuesday, August 6, 5:00 p.m., will be a Back to School Party and we will hand out supplies.
Quick Bites is a program offered through the Mississippi State University Extension that provides timely information on a wide variety of topics to citizens across the state through interactive video. These programs are held during lunch (from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.) on Thursdays at the Scott County Extension Service office, 230 South Davis Street, Forest.
July 11: Basic Sewing 101 will be presented by Martha Cannon, Master Seamstress, Calhoun County MHV. Come one, come all, novice, young, or seasoned! Martha will share sewing basics including sewing on a button, replacing a hem, minor repairs, as well as basic items needed for sewing.
Mt. Moriah MB Church will host their Women’s Day Program on Sunday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m. The guest speaker is Dorothy T. Smith, Scott County District Dean of Christian Education.
You are invited to a Ticket Captain Training event on July 15th, 2019 at the Forest United Methodist Church Family Life Center at 6:30 p.m. This event will give you the opportunity to join in the efforts of the Go Tell Crusade by promoting the event within your church, community, and circle of influence. Rick Gage, of Go Tell Crusade Ministries, will be at the Ticket Captain Training event to share with you the vision that he and the Crusade Planning Team have for reaching our county and the surrounding area for Christ. The Go Tell Crusade Kick-off Banquet is scheduled for Monday, August 19th at Salem Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. where dinner will be served and special guests, Dr. Johnny Hunt and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Billy Shaw, will cast a vision for the upcoming Central MS Go Tell Crusade to be held at the Forest High School football field on October 20th – 23rd.
Calligraphy classes will be offered at Excel Community and Learning Center at 383 S. 4th Street in Morton beginning on Thursday, July 18. The classes will be held on three Thursdays, July 18, July 25, and August 1, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The fee is $25. Please register by July 10. For more information call 601-732-1800.

CPR classes are being offered to the community at Excel Community and Learning Center in Morton on Saturday, July 20th from 9-12:00 noon. First Aid will also be offered following at 12:30-3:30.
