Optional?
There are senior leaders of the state government who, in the face of the pandemic, have ruled that the use of masks, vaccination and the social distance that doctors advise, are all options that the population can choose to comply with or not. The term optional means that the entire population of the state may or may not follow the recommendations of medical science that are being applied worldwide. So the attack that COVID tragically continues to carry out is not of state importance. They mean that the national record in deaths by percentage of the population that our State has, is not a government concern.
From a Christian point of view when it comes to the common good and the health of the entire population, a government should not have a choice. God loves us and clearly wants us all to live and work to carry out his mission. Not taking care of our health shows a selfishness that is typical of bad spirits. God has given wisdom to medical scientists whose results are in sight in everything that concerns diseases. The average lifespan of human beings has been climbing as medicines and vaccines develop. The Holy Spirit behind such advances is evident. Everything that opposes and ignores such advances in medicine is the fruit of the arch enemy of God and man. Satan rules the world and can influence Christian believers, but only within the permissive will of God.
I think the devil is tempting all those who oppose the vaccine and the other precautionary measures. I do not forget that he is the adversary of the saints and of all humanity, and at this moment those who oppose are risking their lives unnecessarily. This is demonstrated by the recent statistical data of those infected and deaths, which shows that the vast majority of current cases are due to people who have not been vaccinated. People who do not believe in the advances of medicine that God has inspired and given the necessary wisdom. “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God..” 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 ESV
When St. Paul addresses the Corinthians his message can be applied to us as well. “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 ESV. In our case, the common good is the health of all, which should not be ignored by opposing the precautionary measures that world medicine has established to control the pandemic. When common sense is for the common good, there is no option that the authorities have granted in the state community.
May God bless you and make you meditate for the good of all.
