Super Summer Series Continues
A Newlywed Shower was hosted at Harperville Baptist Church for Zach and Tara Whittington on Sunday afternoon. The couple was showered with many pieces of their dinnerware pattern, along with other needed household items. Family members present were Tara’s parents, Steve and Karon Martin, her paternal grandmother, Irene Martin and her sister-in-law, Mary Martin. Also in attendance was Mrs. Tonya Whittington, mother of the groom and his brother and sister-in-law, Austin and Eden Whittington. Many guests also used the “Drive-By” option and dropped their gifts and offered their congratulations while remaining in their cars. The Whittington’s were very appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from their families and friends.

A couple of weeks ago, Marshall and Beverley Lewis celebrated their 60th Anniversary. Their son, Hal, who lives in Canton, Ohio, made a surprise appearance on their front porch. Hal had called the Walnut Grove Fish House, knowing that his parents had planned to have their anniversary dinner there, and made arrangements for them. Sheri and Hal Patterson had a table set up and beautifully decorated just for the occasion. They were treated to dinner and a wonderful visit from their son.
We were all saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Jane Dennis. Mrs. Dennis was a longtime member of Harperville Baptist Church although she had been unable to attend in recent years due to her declining health. She was such a sweet and kind person, loved by family and friends alike, and will be missed by all.
