Terrible to hear that Sharon (Shay) Elliott lost her house on Hillsboro Street to a Christmas Eve fire.
CONGRATULATONS to Mitzi and Allen Breland on the arrival on their first grandchild! Phillip McInnis Breland was born to Megan and Jack Breland on Friday, January 3rd in Memphis weighing just over six pounds even though he arrived about a month earlier than expected. Everyone is doing well.
Sorry to learn former Forest resident Ralph (Jimmy) Burroughs was taken to a Jackson hospital last week following a stroke. Hope you’re better soon, Jimmy!
Carol and Bob Lindley were so happy to join all three sons, three wives and seven grandchildren over the Christmas holidays — and wow what fun! With ages 16 years to 12 months represented, Carol said it was a jolly time to say the least!
Our sympathy to the family of Shirley Wilkerson Jones, who passed away Friday, December 27, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held last Monday, December 30, at the Forest United Methodist Church with Reverend David Slaughter officiating. Burial services were held at the Homewood Methodist Cemetery. She is survived by her three children: Rodney Jones (Beth) of Collierville, Tennessee, Jay A. Jones of Brandon, and Shuntau Townsend of Forest. She is also survived by two brothers, Jimmy Wilkerson of Madison, and Tony Wilkerson of Forest, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Our thoughts are with Oliver Triplett, who was taken to the St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson last Thursday afternoon. Hope he is feeling better soon.
