Happy to see Forest’s own Luke Reynolds back in the sports news this week, as his golden Eagles continued their role.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Vonda Tullos, Spencer, and the extended family and friends, in the loss of her mother, Betty Patrick.
Visitation was last Tuesday and her service was Wednesday at the funeral home in Morton. She will be missed. Please continue to keep this family in your thoughts following this unexpected loss.
Carol and James Threadgill of Tupelo arrived on Saturday for a Mother's Day visit with Carol's mother, Jean Palmer.
Rhett Mitchell spent several days last week in the Madison home of his cousin, the Cecil Allreds. He returned to Forest on Friday, before being joined by Dr. Joe “Mitch” and Jennifer Mitchell of Biloxi, for their early Saturday trip to Oxford and the graduation of grandson/son Asher Mitchell, that afternoon. Asher graduated Summa Cum Laude. He also received the University of Mississippi Taylor Award. He is trying to decide between his two to choices, the prestigious University of Minnesota and Washington University Law School in St Louis, Missouri. Asher is also a member of the Mississippians, the Ole Miss jazz band, who will leave the middle of July for Nice, France and will travel a coastal route into Italy playing at jazz festivals and other locations, finally winding up in Rome, Italy.
Visiting in the home of their grandparents, Gene and Dianne Rushing Walker, several days last week, were young Grace and Thomas Coffer of Homewood, Alabama.
Sincere sympathy to Margie Haralson in the loss of her husband Jerry who died last week after a lengthy illness. Visitation and services were held on Thursday at Wolf Funeral Chapel in Lake.
Please send your Forest news to our column address Maybethmo@aol.com. Please share with us news of your graduates, their plans, your travels and visitors. We want to hear from you!
