 Ricky and Donna Hunt celebrated Thanksgiving at Table Rock Lake in Ridgedale, Missouri, with their family.  Gathering with them were daughters Lauren and Jonathan Lunati and their two girls , Emma (2 1/2) and Adeline (14 mos) from Germantown, Tennessee; Leslie Gunn and her son, Stanton (10 mos.); son Geoffrey Hunt and his fiancé, Mallory Moore. They had a great time with family, enjoyed the beautiful Christmas lights at Big Cedar, and the gorgeous fall colors around the lake.  Missed from the gathering was son-in-law Jordan Gunn, who was unable to join them for the festivities. 

Barbara and Lamar Gatewood left on Wednesday for Olive Branch, where they enjoyed spending Thanksgiving holiday in the home of their daughter, Gayla and Shane Steed and family.  They were joined by Alicia and Mike Joyner and daughters Aubrey and Micah of Tallahassee, Florida, for the holiday celebration.

Greg Breland of Collins accompanied Allen and Mitzi Breland to Oxford on Wednesday for Thanksgiving and the Egg Bowl.  Allen and Mitzi’s son Jack and his wife Megan of Memphis, Tennessee, were also with the family in Oxford for the holidays.

The guests of Irene Martin were doubly blessed not only for Thanksgiving but also to celebrate the birthdays of Jackie Burnham Noel, age 80, and Rainey Grace Lee, age 7.  Guests were Steve and Karon Martin, Dave, Kathy, Jacob, Jessica, Gage, Rainey and Gabby Lee, Anne, Connor and Logan Steptoe, Harperville; Tara Martin, Zach Whittington, Jason, Joni, Reese, Sam and Cali Tillman, Elijah and Justus Harvey, Forest; Russell and Mary Martin, Flowood, Belinda Barnes, Merle Washington, Lindsay Lockhart, Brandon; Scott Barnes, Mendenhall, and Jackie, Antoinette and Danny Noel, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Judge Tom Lee, along with Forest natives Jimmy Underwood and Dr. Mart McMullen, traveled to Highlands, North Carolina for a visit at the mountain home of their college friend, Ray McPhail. During that time, Norma Ruth Lee went to New Albany for a visit with her cousin, Grace Provence. Their cousin Sylvia Dillard from Troy, Tennessee, joined them for the cousins’ reunion. One of the evenings, the three cousins welcomed friends Bobby and Sylvia Ferguson of Tupelo and Jackie and Ann Bowen from Muscle Shoales, Alabama, for a delightful dinner at New Albany’s newest restaurant, The Rainey. On Friday, Norma Ruth attended the Scholarship Luncheon at Blue Mountain College.

Congratulations to James and Selma Rushing, who recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.  November 28, 1950 was indeed a special day!

Ben Kenna of Charlotte, North Carolina, arrived Tuesday night for a Thanksgiving visit in the home of his parents, Lynne and Joey Kenna.

James and Martha Park recently enjoyed a visit from their daughter Julia and husband Paul Ogden, who live in Istanbul, Turkey.

Sincere sympathy to the family of LaNita Webb who died Saturday, November 24th at University Medical Center in Jackson.  Funeral services were held on Friday at Forest Baptist Church, followed by burial at Eastern Cemetery.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, also at Forest Baptist Church, for Hugh Jones, who died on Thanksgiving Day in Raymond, following an extended illness.  Sympathy to his wife, the former Cheryl Ann Higdon, and son, Forest Police Chief Will Jones, as well as two daughters, Beth and Megan, and several grandchildren.  Cheryl Ann and Hugh had married fifty two years ago in the same sanctuary where his memorial service was held.
