Last week Judge Tom and Norma Ruth Lee were guest of Bill and Nancy Yates for the annual gathering at the Yates Lodge at Mulberry Point in Aliceville, Alabama. It was a very special time of reminiscing and sharing latest happenings with 16 couples who have maintained close friendships through the years.
Welcome to David Isiah Mitchell, born Thursday, February 28 at Baptist Medical System in Jackson. The baby weighed in at six pounds 13 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long to Kai Mitchell and Deidra Mitchell. Proud Biloxi grandparents are Joe “Mitch” and Jennifer Mitchell and great granddad, Rhett Mitchell. Congratulations all!!
Sincere sympathy to the family of Margaret Rhodes Rivers who died March 2nd following an extended illness. Margaret was a member of the Forest High School Class of 1965. Funeral services were held last Monday at McClain Hays Funeral home in Philadelphia.

You won’t want to miss this week’s LIBRARY LAB: “Chiquita’s Cake Baking Class!!” Local baker Chiquita Lofton-Wilson teaches participants Cake Baking 101 at the Saturday morning Library Lab, March 16 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon. This workshop of making and decorating cakes is perfect for bakers of all levels, from caterers to home cooks. Learn the art of cake designing and creating the perfect cake for any purpose. The class begins with an overview of basic equipment and ingredients, along with step-by-step demonstrations. Registration is required, along with a $5.00 ingredients fee for the take-home cake. Let’s bake our cake and eat it, too!
St. Patrick’s Day Program for Teens is scheduled at the Forest Municipal Library for Tuesday, March 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Are you feeling lucky? Ready to Riverdance? Library teens will be celebrating the Luck of the Irish with games, crafts, music, and maybe a little Irish jig!
