Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gibson’s recent statement “Mysterious seeds from China — Things are getting stranger all the time in 2020. Several states in the southwest have reported the arrival of unwanted seeds and other goods from China sources. Our office has had recent contact from Mississippians reporting the arrival of these unwanted seeds from China. Do not plant them! Don’t throw them in the trash! Please contact our Ms. Bureau of Plant Industry office and report the seeds at 662-326-3390. We are developing a protocol for the best way to deal with them.”
Washington State Department of Agriculture also posted the following — “Today we received reports of people receiving seeds, in the mail, from China that they did not order. The packages usually say contents are Jewelry. Unsolicited seeds could be invasive diseases to local plants, or be harmful to livestock. Do not open the packages. This is known as ‘Agricultural Smuggling’.
This Pandemic has opened our eyes to how China has taken over producing a great majority of our goods. We fell, hook, line and sinker for their ‘cheaper products’ and look what it has gotten us into. Purchases of so many items such as freezers, jars and jar lids, cloth, Clothing items, some grocery products and the list goes on and on! Wake up Americans we have been making one of our worst enemies prosperous and taking us down in doing it!
This story is too good not to tell you. “Four brothers had finished college and had gotten very successful and prosperous. They decided to give their ailing aged mother, who lived in another city, some nice gifts for her birthday. Brother #1, gave her a ‘big’ new house. #2 son said, I had a $100,000 theater built in the house; #3 son said, I sent her a SL600 Mercedes delivered to her door; #4 son said, You know how mama loves to read the Bible, but because of her failing eyesight she can’t read it anymore. I met this preacher that told me about a parrot than can recite the entire Bible. It took 20 preachers 12 years to teach him. You just tell him chapter and verse and he recites it.
“I had to pledge $100,000 a year to the church for 20 years, but it was worth it. The other brothers were impressed. After the holiday, Mom sent out thank you note to son #1. The house you had built is so huge, I live in one room, but I have to clean the whole house, Thank you anyway. #2. You gave me a impressive theatre, with Dolby sound, that can hold 50 people. But, all my friends are dead, I’ve lost my hearing and I’m nearly blind, I’ll never use it. Thanks for the gesture just the same. #3 I’m too old to travel, I stay home, have my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good, so thank you. #4. Dearest son, you were the only son to have good sense and give thoughts to your gift. The chicken was delicious, thank you!”
Some parents must now have to home school their children, now is the time to put the Bible in the curriculum!
It has been most satisfying, for me, to go back to church for the second time since February. I am afraid for many that the danger of missing church is that soon you won’t miss it!
“Some early surveys and reports indicate as many as 20% of church pastors will quit the ministry during and after the pandemic. Discouragement is very real right now. Send your pastor a card, or call him, and pray for him now.”
Mississippi department of Education selected the top four Educators of Mississippi. Weeks before the announcement, four congressional district winners were chosen for these awards. Should either of the top recipients be unable to fulfill their duties the alternate candidate would assume the position. We are proud that Forest High School Mathematics Teacher, April Lang is the Alternate 2020 Teacher of the Year!!
With all the cancellations of today, maybe this will give you a chuckle. “Due to Coronavirus Danger, the 2020 Election should be cancelled and Trump remain President through 2024.”
“Show me a man that gets rich being a Politician and I’ll show you a Crook!” (Harry S. Truman)
Church sign —“Time is short, Hell is hot, the King is coming, Ready or Not?”
Can you agree with this. Lesson learned — The main function of the “Pinkie” toe is to make sure that all the furniture is in place.
