Chamber holds 19th annual golf tournament after multiple rain delays

The Forest Area Chamber of Commerce held their 19th annual Chamber Golf Tournament on May 16 at the Forest County Club. Due to the torrential downpours in April this year the tournament was postponed on two separate occasions. After the two weather postponements, mother nature provided a beautiful day for golf last Thursday, and the Chamber hosted a great event enjoyed by all participants.

This year’s event featured 12 three-man/woman teams that played a best ball scramble format. The Chamber awarded the top teams in two tournament flights with 1st place and 2nd place in each flight receiving awards.

Championship Flight

First place - was the Cox Chevron Team including Vance Cox, Jeffery Cooper and Shelby Patterson.

Second place - was the Tyson Foods Team including Eddie McDill, Angie McDill and David Moody.

First Flight

First place – Chad Hall, Jimmy Carver and Dan Moody

Second place – George Marler, Tom Brown and Bert Atkison.

Allyce Lott, the Chamber Executive Director said that this year was another successful event. “Even though we had bad luck with the weather this year we were able to wait it out and enjoy a wonderful day of golf,” Lott said. “We would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping the Chamber host another successful tournament.”
