The annual Holy Week worship celebration kicked off Monday at the Forest United Methodist Church’s Family Life Center.

Tate Rushing has earned the Eagle Scout rank which is the highest rank a scout can attain in the Boy Scouts of America.

Drug Bust On I-20

Sunday night a Scott County Deputy stopped a vehicle on I-20 West. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Feliciano Flores 37, of Houston Texas. “During the traffic stop the deputy was given a consent to search the vehicle.” Sheriff Mike Lee said. “During the search the deputy found 78 lbs.

I suppose it’s all up to the ole groundhog at this point. Winter, that is. Of course we’ve still got a little over a week before Groundhog Day and “officially” knowing what to expect for the next six weeks, but after the last half-a-month or so I’m hoping more than ever before that Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow this year.

Mrs. Linda D. Frith Shoemaker, age 64, passed away on Friday January 19, 2018 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation was held on Sunday January 21, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday January 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Tuesday January 23, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m.
