Library hosts Tour the Town to celebrate Mississippi’s Bicentennial and Scott Co MS Genealogical’s 20th Anniversary
On Sunday, October 22, Forest Public Library hosted a Tour the Town event. This program celebrated the Mississippi Bicentennial and the 20th Anniversary of the Scott County Mississippi Genealogical and Historical Society.

The atmosphere was heated as next-door neighbors Forest and Morton battled it out to see who could claim the “W” in the Battle for the Golden Chicken last Friday night at Bearcats Stadium.
Perfection is rare, but the Scott Central Rebels continue their winning streak at Pelahatchie. Toppling the Chiefs 68-20, the Rebels overwhelmed the Chiefs with outstanding passing and rushing. The Rebel defense kept the mighty passing game of the Chiefs to 17 completed passes out of 32.
The Lake Hornets game against the Philadelphia Tornadoes was an uphill climb to victory for the visiting team. The away status did not seem to affect the Hornets ability to perform consistently throughout all four quarters. The Tornadoes put up a good fight, but could not overcome the Hornets who won 34-30.
Home field advantage was not enough to afford the Sebastopol Bobcats a victory against the Vardaman Rams. The Rams overcame the Bobcats 26 to 0. Try as they might, the Bobcats could not get the football into the end zone during the entire contest against the Rams, who had a consistent night, scoring one touchdown in all four quarters.
