The crisp morning air and chilly breeze felt good just before daylight Monday morning as I walked the dogs. It felt like it should feel this time of year. It was just the opposite Saturday in Starkville where we suffered through the heat in the football stadium, and as much or more so beneath the tailgate tents.

Dr. Deepthi Mundra bought Metro Dental located at 1237 Highway 35 South in Forest in June from Dr. Jim Polles. In 2015, Dr. Polles had advertised for an associate and Dr. Mundra got the job. In 2017, Dr. Polles decided to sell Metro Dental and he asked Dr. Mundra if she wanted to buy it.
My wife and I took a road trip to Hattiesburg this past Saturday. We had been wanting to go to this place called The Lucky Rabbit for months. I know the name kind of sounds like a strip joint, or bar, or maybe a casino, but in reality it is a big ole warehouse filled with vendor booths. A wall-to-wall flea market.
Last Friday night, the Scott Central Rebels continued to leave a trail of shut-out victories in their wake this season. Union was utterly defeated by the Rebels, 64-0.
State inmate Gregory Trigg, who escaped from the Scott County Jail last weekend, has been captured and is back in prison.
Trigg, #R4245, was found in a motel in Hazlehurst and arrested without incident by local authorities. He was caught at 11:30 p.m. Monday at the motel. His identity was confirmed later.
