Dr. William Shaw, Jr., a former teacher, principal, and school administrator who retired last month, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 13 at his home.
Dr. Shaw retired from from the Scott County School District where he most recently served as a coordinator for textbook operations and assisted with curriculum strategies.
The attorney for Scott County in the American Civil Liberties Union case against the county, Will Allen of Brookhaven, provided this paper with an update last week that the monetary settlement between the ACLU and the county had been made public and was of the amount of $75,000.
