Come home to the Heavenly Father
Are you tired of your old life and the way you’ve been living? Are you ready for a new day? Are you ready to surrender your life to Jesus?
“Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.” (Psalm 51:2)
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
Many Christians feel they can actually do what they want and then repent and all will be well. Sin-repent-sin-repent, etc. Yes, “we all sin and come short of the glory of God!” But I’m referring to intentional premeditated sin. Many do what they want to do explaining that they will repent later.
It just doesn’t work that way. Yes, God will forgive all our sins but we tend to negate the fact of reaping and sowing.
“A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life….” (Galatians 6)
There is a consequence to sin, even with repenting. There’s a price to pay for sin.
God desires for us to avoid intentional sinning. That’s willful sinning that we’re aware of, but have chosen to do anyway. Friends, we should desire to live a Holy life like Jesus. His life was a beautiful example for us to follow.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit in me.” (Psalm 51:10)
This scripture should also be our prayer, that God would cleanse our heart and help us be steadfast and not on an emotional roller coaster.
Our prayer should be, “God, whatever it takes, clean and purify me.” “Give me clean hands and a pure heart.”
Because Jesus paid the price for us on the cross, we are now forgiven, past, present, and future sins. We are made righteous because of His blood. But that doesn’t give us a ticket to go and do what we want! Intentional sin puts a wall between us and God. No, God doesn’t leave us, but sin will cause us to pull away from Him. When Adam and Eve sinned, they hid from God in the darkness.
God is light! Our intentional sinful life will pull us away from a beautiful relationship with our Heavenly Father.
“For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.” (2 Peter 1:9)
God desires a deep, personal relationship with us! When we repent of our sins, “He forgives and remembers them no more.”
Please understand that we all sin, every one of us! But we also have choices to make and our choice should be to live like Jesus. It’s not impossible!
I encourage you if you’re living in intentional sin, to walk away and come home to your Heavenly Father who will forgive you and cleanse you! Jesus is the only way to true happiness and joy!
Jesus is the answer! Jesus is your answer! He can and will change your life!
