February is Black Hisrory Month. Black History Month started as Negro History Week.  This week was chosen because it coincided with the birthday of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Both of these dates were celebrated by the black communities since the late 19th century.

Mattie Geneva Duckworth Evans

A Celebration of Life Service was held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 for Mattie Geneva Duckworth Evans at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA with Rev. Dave McKinney officiating. Interment followed the service at Pease Cemetery. Visitation was held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home chapel.

Progress Reports come home Thursday

Although it feels like we just got back from our holiday break, it is already time for progress reports and they will be sent home with students on Thursday, January 31st. Nine weeks tests for the third term will be March 6-8 and Spring Break will be the week of March 11-15.

Prep overpowers visiting Bearcats 45-7

This past Friday night Forest traveled to Flowood to take on a stout Jackson Prep team that’s on a 20-game win streak. The Bearcats knew that beating the 6-time defending MAIS AAAA state champion Patriots on their home field would be a tall order, but the Cats had a good week of preparation and came into the game focused and ready to play.
