Q’Jett Goodwin Boone

Q’Jett Goodwin Boone, 78, of the Daniel Community in Smith County, passed away on January 12, 2020 in the St. Dominic Hospital. Q’Jett was the daughter of the late Clarence Elvie and Beulah Crimm. She was born June 16, 1941 in Scott County, Mississippi.




Suzelle Weems

Suzelle Weems succumbed, on January 10, 2020 to the ravages of acute myeloid leukemia despite a valiant and resolute year-long battle with the disease, a battle which involved chemotherapy and bone-marrow transplant.



Tim Goodin

Services for Tim Goodin were held Sunday, January 12, 2020, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Jarvis Hamilton, Rev. Kevin Bryan, and Rev. Mitchell McDonald officiating. Burial followed in Coy Community Cemetery in Preston. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Irene K. Smith

Irene K. Smith, age 91, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2020, surrounded by her family at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, and at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 19.



Thomas Eugene Brown

Thomas Eugene Brown was born November 22, 1957 in Forest, MS. He passed away January 3, 2020 at Merit Central in Jackson, MS at the age of 62.

A truck driver, by profession, Tommy was a lifelong resident of Mississippi. He was a Christian by testimony of his faith and served his country in the United States Air Force.


Jerry Tom McNeil

Jerry Tom McNeil, age 82, passed away with his family at his side, January 3, 2020 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Mississippi. He was born November 11, 1937 to Isham Forest McNeil and Etta Waites McNeil of Bay Springs, Mississippi.



Nolen Sistrunk

Services for Mr. Nolen Sistrunk were held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Sebastopol Baptist Church. Burial was held in the Sebastopol City Cemetery. Rev. H.L. Rhodes and Rev. Jay Clark officiated.


Jackie Burnham Noel

Alice Jacqueline (Jackie) Burnham Noel died January 2, 2020 in New Orleans. She was born November 24, 1938 in Harperville, Scott County, Miss., the eighth and last child of John Raymond and Fannie Woods Burnham.
