This year’s Take a Kid Fishing Day will be Saturday, June 1, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Marathon. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.  Youth and volunteers will need to register and receive wrist bands to participate. The day will include the fishing tournament, casting contest, Fire-wise education, and a special visit from Smokey Bear. Prizes will be awarded for largest fish, Casting contest winners and special tagged fish.

There are three age divisions for youth — 6 to 9, 10 to 13 and 14 to 18.  Each child under 16 years of age must have an adult accompanying him/her.
