It was Fall Break last week around Scott County, but that didn’t mean a break in the action on the football field.
The Sebastopol Bobcats, on the road at McAdams claimed a 28-18 victory to move to 3-4 overall, and 1-1 in district play. This week the Bobcats return home to host Nanih Waiya. The Warriors, 4-2 and 2-0, defeated Noxapater 41-16 last week.
The Lake Hornets, playing at home also claimed a win last week, crushing Puckett 36-0. The Hornets, now 4-3 and 2-0 in the district, hit the road for Pelahatchie this week hoping to improve their standings against a 3-4, 1-0 Chiefs team that slipped by Newton 48-34 last week. Lake will play on Thursday night.
The Morton Panthers, also on the road last week at Mendenhall, brought home a 14-7 victory to improve their record to 4-3, 2-0. The Panthers are off this week and will return to action October 24 at home against Raymond.
The Forest Bearcats, were on the road at Raleigh last week, dropping only their second game of the season, 31-18 to the Lions. The Bearcats, 5-2 and 1-0, hit the road again this week to Raymond where they will challenge a 2-5, 0-1 Rangers team that fell 36-0 to Richland last week.
And it is Homecoming week at Scott Central as the Rebels hope to improve their 1-6, 1-0 record, against a 1-6, 0-2 Newton team. The Tigers lost 48-32 to Pelahatchie last week. The Rebels lost 31-25 at Leake Central last week.
All kick offs are at 7:00 p.m. Extra security measures are being taken at some schools due to the recent wave of shooting incidents last week around the state.
