Sen. Terry Burton has suffered a stroke and is undergoing medical care, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves’s office said today.
“Please join me and Elee in praying for Senator Burton and his family,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said.
His family has asked for privacy at this time.
Burton, R-Newton, has served in the Mississippi Senate since 1992. He represents District 31, which includes Scott, Lauderdale, and Newton counties.
