February 7

The Forest United Methodist women are having their annual chili/soup fundraiser lunch on Thursday February 7. It will be held at the family life Center of the Forest United Methodist Church. You may eat in or take out. It will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM. Tickets are available from the church office or at the door. The phone number for the church is 601-469-2604.


February 8

The City of Forest Parks and Recreation and Youth Sports League is accepting registrations for this year’s baseball and t-ball program for girls and boys at Gaddis Park.

The deadline to register is February 8. Registration forms are available at the park office. The cost to participate is $75.

An original certified birth certificate must be submitted with registration. No copies will be accepted. Park staff will make copies of the original and return that original to the applicant. Previous birth certificates submitted in past years will not count toward this year’s registration.


February 9

Antioch Steele Cemetery Association will hold its annual Membership/Board of Directors Meeting Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, Hwy 21 North, Forest Ms.  All interested members are asked to attend.  Contributions for upkeep may be mailed to Alfred H. Bailey, P.O. Box 453, Decatur Ms. 39327


February 27

Excel Learning Center Soup and Dessert Day will be on Wed., Feb. 27  from 10:00-12:30.  Will deliver locally for three or more orders.  Eat in or dine out!  Public is welcome.  The event will be held at Excel Learning Center at 383 S. 4th St.,  Morton.  601-732-1800


April 5

The Scott County Sheriff’s Dept. Annual Golf Tournament will be held on April 13 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Forest Country Club. The cost is $180 per 3-man team and entry consists of a lunch for each person. Three mulligans per team can be purchased the day of the tournament for $5 each. There will be two flights based on a full field. The Deadline for entry is April 5. For more information and registration contact Richard Gregory at 601-469-3223. The Country Club will have six carts availabe to rent for $20 each. You must contact John Roby at 601-613-5615 to reserve a cart.
