Excel is holding a CPR class on Saturday, February 1 from 9:00 - 12:00. If you need a renewal or a first time certification, come on in and pre-register at Excel Community and Learning Center at 383 S. 4th St. Morton. Registration ends Wed. January 29th. Trees will be given away on Monday, Feb. 3 at the USDA Service Center. Times are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. across from Tadlock Stockyard. Trees available will be hardwoods, pines, flowering and ornamentals, and wildlife species.

Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 there will be a $6.00 soup/chili lunch at Forest United Methodist Church between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Dine-in or take-out available.

Quick Bites is a program offered through the Mississippi State University Extension that provides timely information on a wide variety of topics to citizens across the state through interactive video. These programs are held during lunch (from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.) on Thursdays at the Scott County Extension Service office, 230 South Davis Street, Forest.
February 6: “Floral Sweethearts!” will be presented by Lynette McDougald, Instructor at Plant and Soil Sciences at Mississippi State University. We will cozy up with some real sweethearts this month including great design styles, seasonal flower selection, and fabulous foliage collection ideas for February.

The City of Forest Parks and Recreation and Youth Sports League is accepting registrations for this year’s baseball and t-ball program for girls and boys at Gaddis Park.
The deadline to register is February 14. Registration forms are available at the park office. The cost to participate is $75.
An original certified birth certificate must be submitted with registration. No copies will be accepted. Park staff will make copies of the original and return that original to the applicant. Previous birth certificates submitted in past years will not count toward this year’s registration. Call 601-469-3313.
