Scott County’s Distinguished Young Women program will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 6:00 pm at the Sebastopol Attendance Center Auditorium.
This year’s participants are:
Rosemeri Agustin, the daughter of Bosbeli Agustin and Erica Molina. She attends Forest High School and plans to attend Ole Miss or Mississippi State University and major in business. For her talent, she will play the piano.
AliBeth Wilbourne, the daughter of Sarah and Shane Wilbourne. She attends East Rankin Academy and plans to attend ECCC and UMMC to become a pediatric anesthesiologist. For her talent, she will dance.
Trinite’e Lofton, the daughter of Marie Lofton and Terry Lofton. She attends Forest High School and plans to attend Ole Miss or the University of Alabama, majoring in journalism. For her talent, she will perform a color guard routine.
Keyla Lopez Jimenez, the daughter of Jaime Lopez and Margarita Marroquin Perez. She attends Forest High School and plans to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology to become a fashion designer. For her talent, she will sing and dance.
Last year, through the generous support of the business community, Scott DYW awarded an impressive $4,000 in cash scholarships and is on track to provide the same amount this year.
“We have new sponsors this year, but we are most excited to award the Self Expression Preliminary Award in honor of Norma Ruth Lee,” Director Jill Bishop said. “Mrs. Lee coached young women in interview skills for over 50 years.”
