Our community is saddened by the death of Capt. Timothy Crudup, son of the late Loween and Ike Crudup, who passed Friday, September 13th at his home in Clinton. A graduate of E. T. Hawkins High School and Jackson State University (major in Mass Communications), Capt. Crudup graduated from the Army ROTC with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and retired as Captain Crudup. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Please keep his family in your prayers. Mapp Funeral has been entrusted with final arrangements.
We join fans and admirers of Mississippi (Arkabutla) native, James Earl Jones, who died September 9th at his New York home. He was one of the few performers to achieve the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony), and received numerous awards for his performing talents. His booming voice as Darth Vader is credited with the success of the Star Wars franchise and Mufasa in The Lion King. His majestic basso profundo voice became internationally recognized. He will be missed but his voice and influence live on. Please keep his family, especially his son, in your prayers.
The music and sweet sounds of the late Frankie Beverly have found special places in our hearts especially baby boomers who enjoyed “real music” like “Happy Feelings,” “Joy and Pain” and “Before I Let Go.” Frankie Beverly transitioned September 10th and will be remembered for providing music that made you want to go out and have a good time and for wearing his cool white baseball cap. He shared more than 50 years of music and was the star reflector for the group, Maze.
