An important decision
There are many decisions we make throughout our lives. It doesn’t matter how many decisions we make, all of them have some common roots based on the way we grew under the supervision of our parents, cultural values in the environment in which we lived from our childhood and youth, and the moral principles learned from them. Those spiritual values will be with us forever if we make some important decisions. For a believer an important decision is to serve God as a minister, and our congregations need them. But, be careful. Sometimes emotions lead us to make a commitment that we did not seriously think through. Emotions are a temporary thing, and it doesn’t matter how sincere we are, the decision of assuming a ministry needs to reflect a constant communion with God that will persevere forever.
Our decisions are important when considered in terms of good and evil. Knowing that every personal action will be known by God and will have moral consequences that affect others and that each action will produce reaction sooner or later. Sincerity is not enough to make you a disciple if you have not received the Holy Spirit who makes our reasons real. Because we belong to Him Who asked, “Come to Me,” we become loyal to His disposition in our lives.
God’s love has two faces; in one there is wrath and in the other forgiveness. Wrath, because God will never agree with sin, and because of our faults we should be punished or, forgiveness thanks to Jesus Christ if we repent. Whoever doesn’t take the decision of repenting will not receive Jesus and his life will be full of chaos and calamity.
World history is full of facts that show many societies going away from God’s will. Putin is a good example of evil. Today we have many people that are suffering a spiritual blindness because they are trying to find true life away from God and, of course, they will never reach it. The only road to walk goes through Jesus. “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience” Ephesians 2:1a-b (ESV). As you can see this message to the Ephesians is alive for today’s world.
The most important spiritual decision is to accept Jesus and become His disciple; learning and following the Divine Master’s principles. It is difficult but possible, and the fruits will be glory to our Lord.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-2 & 4 (ESV). The decision is personal but just know that the Holy Spirit gives us the needed wisdom and discernment in making the right decision.
May God bless you.
