It was a pleasure to discover that Martha Rogers was in attendance. She was president of the Morton Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the annual event, several times and always planned the ultimate in speakers, food and fun.
The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast was an important gathering of local citizens and a blessing to all who were present. Bro. Willie Jones delivered a powerful message and Bro. Robert Boyd gave the invocation and blessing of the bountiful breakfast, catered by Sam’s Diner. Beautiful Mayor’s Choice citation plaques were awarded to the clergy and congregation of North Morton Baptist Church for their untiring service to all who were impacted by the tornado that destroyed homes and property in Morton. Also, the Citizenship award went to Miles Porter, principal of Bettye Mae Jack Middle School. Thank you, Mayor Gerald Keeton and your committee for this effort to bring worshipers together to pray for our city and the surounding area.
