We join others across the nation and globe in paying tribute to the life and legacy of U. S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who transitioned Friday, September 18th following a lengthy battle with cancer. She made history by becoming the second woman to serve on the nation’s highest court. Justice Ginsburg served 27 years there and was hailed, by Chief Justice Roberts, as “a tireless and resolute champion of justice.” He further declared that, “Our nation has lost a jurist of historic stature.” This historic figure was beloved on both sides of the political spectrum. Please keep her family in your prayers.

We enjoyed Sunday Services at several local churches, one of which was St. Michael Catholic Church where Pastor “Father Roberto” Mena welcomed parishioners and visitors. During his homily, he suggested and challenged us to go into the community and spread the Word as evangelists. Unless we spread the Good News and encourage others to do likewise, our churches will perish.
Lynch Chapel U. M. Church services were conveyed via teleconference Sunday morning. Members were encouraged to continue to exercise caution during this pandemic. Following prayer, Pastor Shirley Wilder shared her message which was taken from Isaiah 43:18-19, and was entitled “Get Ready for your New Title: Run your Race.” She reminded members that we are living in stressful times.
Following devotion and beautiful music from the Little Rock M. B. Church youth, Pastor Sheldon Thomas greeted members and offered prayers for all especially members and ministers. His theme was “It’s a Life Style and Not an Event.” During his sermon which was founded on Matthew 25 and Romans 12, he referenced the following: One good deed won’t get us in Heaven; Affirm that you are well and positive; Know when the environment is right; Make a life style change along the way; Make things better for others; The environment is right – confess, pray and ask God to heal you.
