DYW participants are excellent representatives
Scott Central is so very proud that the 2019 Scott County Distinguished Young Woman is our very own, Olivia Triplett. Olivia is the daughter of O.B. Triplett and Ingrid Triplett, who recently retired as an elementary teacher at Scott Central.
Olivia was awarded the title on Saturday, February 24 and also received the self-expression, talent and fitness awards. Olivia stated that she is “so honored to represent my county this year as Scott County DYW 2019.”
Also representing Scott Central was Victoria Thrash who received the scholastic award and “little sisters” Jocey Bell and Hannah Grace Horton. All of these young ladies are excellent representatives of our school and community.
Congratulations to SC Senior, Ken Patrick, on being awarded a football scholarship to Holmes Community College.
Scott Central Elementary students are celebrating National Read Across America Week. The theme is based on Dr. Seuss books. SC elementary students wore crazy socks for Fox in Socks, the color green for Green Eggs and Ham, orange shirts for The Lorax and Dr. Seuss hats for Cat in the Hat, all fun ways to emphasize and encourage children to become lifelong readers.
