It is thrilling to watch Victoria Vivians lead the Bulldogs
We have so many things to be proud of around Scott Central that I hardly know where to begin. The Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs pulled off impressive wins over the weekend to advance to the Final Four. Despite school allegiances, I believe most folks are happy to see a Mississippi team make it so far.
It is especially thrilling for those of us at Scott Central to watch our alumna, Victoria Vivians, lead her team, once again, to the Final Four, and hopefully, a National Championship. Many students and teachers wore maroon on Friday to show support for our #35. As Coach Vic Schaefer always says, “Praise the Lord and go Dawgs!”
On Friday, the SC campus was visited by another alumnus, Gregory Stowers. Mr. Stowers is employed by DOW Industries. He brought colleagues with him including Herbie, the DOW Robot. The Robot visited with students in the classroom and throughout the school. The high school students were just as excited as the elementary. Many thanks to Mr. Stowers for continuing to invest in his alma mater.
If you did not already know, we have some incredibly talented students at Scott Central. The Talent Show, an annual event, was held Friday and hosted by the SC Gifted Classes. In the Elementary Division grades 1-3, the winners were Quandarrius McKee, 3rd place; Ava Claire Carson, 2nd place and Julia Haley, 1st place. In the Elementary Division grades 4-6, the winners were Kinsley Woods, 3rd place, Devon Townsend, 2nd place and PJ Fletcher, 1st place. Winners of the competition for the seventh and eighth grades were: Karlee Polk, 3rd place, Tyler Carson, 2nd place and 1st place, Cory Perrette. Winners of the high school division were: 3rd place, Alexus Guthrie and Leann Brown, 2nd place, Jessica Darby and Martez Nickols and 1st place was Kaitlyn Kyzar.
Congratulations to both our Baseball and Softball teams on their victories over the weekend.
