Scott Central band’s performance is “off the charts”
For the second consecutive year, the Scott Central Rebel Pride Band has earned a Superior Rating at the MHSAA Marching Band Evaluation. SC Band Director, Dustin Haley, commented that Scott Central’s performance on Saturday at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba was “off the charts.”
The band received an overall superior rating as did the other sections of the band: the Drum Majors, Percussion section and Color Guard. The SC band was invited and will compete in the State Marching Championship at Pearl High School on November 4th.
Congratulations to Mr. Haley and all the band students on their excellent performance.
Another milestone for SC is that the Junior Varsity team has gone undefeated for the second straight year. The 7th grade team was undefeated and the 8th grade team only had one loss this season. The Rebel Varsity team continues to methodically work their way to a perfect season with their 26-0 win over Lake.
The Rebels will travel to Pelahatchie on Friday and their last game of the regular season will be at home against Philadelphia.
Last week, several local fire fighters from the North Central Scott County Volunteer Fire Department visited with SC Kindergarten and first grade students. They brought a fire truck and demonstrated fire safety practices to the students.
Report cards for the first nine weeks of school will be issued on Thursday, October 19th.
