Fire Department fund raiser is Saturday
The HBC Haiti Mission Team had a very successful yard sale last Saturday. Thanks to all who donated, worked or bought items. The Team raised approximately $1,800 to benefit the trip to Haiti, which is just one month away.
HBC hosted youth from churches around the county on Sunday during Late Night. The HBC Youth presented a skit, there were musical performances by Anse Rigby and others, and the message was brought by Jason Tillman.
This upcoming Saturday, the Volunteer Fire Department will have their annual Chicken Plate Lunch. This is our community fire department’s primary source of funds. Plates can still be purchased from any member of the fire department for $6 each. It is the very least we can do to help our fire department continue their important services for our communities.
Students are continuing to undergo state testing this week. Please make sure your student is here, on time each day and well rested.
I attended ECCC’s commencement Exercises on Friday night to see my daughter, Victoria graduate. It was also thrilling to see the names of over a dozen of my former students from Scott Central also graduate. It is so gratifying to see these young men and women be successful. Congratulations to all the students on their accomplishments.
