Time to get back to the ‘Real World’
This is the last full week of the summer break as Scott County District School teachers will report to work next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for professional development. All time seems to fly by, but it seems that no time passes faster than summer break.
I always have a number of home projects that I want to complete, but I can never seem to get them all done. Maybe I should make shorter lists, but I remind myself that those unfinished projects will still be waiting for me next summer.
I did get to spend some special time with my baby girl who will be a little farther away from home next year at MSU. We also had a great time in Orange Beach with the whole family. So, all in all, it has been a good break and it’s time to get back to the “real” world.
Students must register on July 24th or July 25th at their school’s location. The first regular day of school for students will be on Tuesday, August 7th. The link http://sca.scott.k12.ms.us will take you directly to Scott Central’s page where you can find all information regarding registration and the required residency documentation. Supply lists for kindergarten through 6th grade are also located at this site.
If you are looking for a fun and meaningful experience for your children before the end of summer, Harperville Baptist will host Vacation Bible School during the last weekend of July. HBC will provide meals for the children at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 27th and July 28th. Vacation Bible School will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will end at 8:30 p.m. each night. Family Night is Sunday, July 29th at 6:00 p.m.
