School pictures to be taken this Friday at SC
We had a large crowd on hand to witness the deacon ordination services of Seth McDaniel on Sunday morning at Harperville Baptist Church. The service began with a collection of Seth’s favorite hymns, followed by a beautiful special, Let Them See You, from Joni Tillman. Upon a favorable recommendation from the ordination council, Bro. Bobby McKay delivered a special message tailored especially for Seth. After the traditional “Laying on of Hands” ceremony, Seth was ordained as a deacon of Harperville Baptist Church. This year, Seth has committed his life to public service as an officer of the law and his spiritual life in further service as a deacon. May God bless, protect and use him in His service.
First time visitors of Irene Martin recently were Mrs. Jennifer Dilley and Rhett of Lake. Mark your calendars: Forest Community Arts will present Dr. Justin Sharp in an all Gershwin concert, Forest Presbyterian Church, Saturday, October 20, 2:00 p.m. Many will remember Justin who played the piano at Harperville Baptist Church as a teenager when his father Rev. John Sharp was pastor.
The Scott Central Rebels are continuing their undefeated season with a 35-20 win over Florence. They will play at SE Lauderdale this upcoming Friday and will be hosting Sweet Water, AL for Homecoming on September 21st. The daily activities for Homecoming Week beginning on 9/17 will be Monday: Pajama Day, Tuesday: Out of this World, Space Day (astronauts, aliens, galaxy); Wednesday: Hippie/Tie Dye Day, Thursday: Be a Star Day (rock star, pop star or movie star), and Friday: Spirit / Blue Out Day.
School pictures will be taken at Scott Central this Friday, September 14th for grades K-11. Senior portraits will be taken on September 28th.
