Harperville NewsBy SHEILA SANDERS,
Brother Bobby McKay will be missed
Harperville Baptist Church bid a bittersweet farewell to Bro. Bobby McKay, his wife Amy, and their daughters, Mary Lawrence and Ilydia on Sunday. The McKay family is embarking on a new ministry at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Brookhaven. The McKay family has been a part of our church family and community for nine years.
On Sunday, Bro. Bobby led services for the last time as pastor of Harperville Baptist. It was fitting that the soloist in the youth special, King of My Heart, was Mary Lawrence. It has been a joy to watch as she and Ilydia have grown into such wonderful young ladies. We will miss Bro. Bobby’s engaging messages and leadership, as well as Amy’s sweet and wise influence, especially, on our youth. May God bless them as they answer His call on their lives.
A memorial service was held Sunday afternoon in honor of Lincoln Warren, the son of April Stewart and grandson of Paul Stewart. Our deepest condolences and continued prayers for them in their loss.
The Scott Central Homecoming Court will be presented during half-time at the game this Friday night. The Rebels plan to extend their undefeated season when we host Sweet Water, AL for our homecoming game. The Rebels defeated SE Lauderdale last Friday by a score of 27-2.
