Congratulations to Scott Central Alumni
Congratulations to Louis Tolbert, Scott Central Class of 2014, on his recent graduation from Mississippi State University’s Adkerson School of Accountancy. Geneva Haley, an assistant teacher at Scott Central, who is pursuing a bachelor’s in Elementary Education, was named to the President’s List. Also, from Scott Central, Hoa Mi Pham and Tori Sanders were named to the Deans’ List at Mississippi State University.
Harperville native, Brittney Rawson, completed her student teaching requirements at Scott Central this fall and just graduated Cum Laude from MSU’s Department of Education. Brittney has joined the staff at Scott Central Elementary as a fourth grade teacher.
Last week, a celebration was hosted by the Scott County School Board, Dr. Tony McGee and Mr. Chad Harrison to honor and recognize our 2018 State 2A championship football team, cheerleaders and band. Also, recognized were students scoring 25 or higher on the ACT, and the 2018 teachers of the year.
Visitors of Irene Martin this week were Pat Hodges making her annual Christmas visit; also, Mr. Emery and Mrs. Jan Powell of Dallas. They accompanied their grandchildren Kylie, Brynnley and Lydia Powell to piano lessons. They are staying with the girls and brother Ethan while their parents Eddie and Kisty Powell are on a tour and cruise of Australia and New Zealand.
