Valentines Balloons are not be allowed at school
Eleven Scott Central students attended the Educators Rising State Leadership conference held at Oxford High School on February 8-9, 2019. Educators Rising is an organization which cultivates highly skilled educators by guiding young people on a path to becoming accomplished teachers, beginning in high school and extending through college and into the profession.
At the State Leadership conference, students participated in workshops and various competitions. Jessica Darby placed first in Exploring Education Student Support and Innovative Careers. A’nyia Smith, Kris Deanna Leatherwood, Demetria Hick-Wash and Danny Warren placed fourth in Ethical Dilemma. Also attending the event were Karis Bobbitt, Jamiyah Bloodsaw, Tamarra Kelly, Na Tya Smith and Cameo Odom. SC Sponsors of Educators Rising are Smith and Vanessa Norman.
February 6, 2019 was signing day for four SC Rebels: Signing were Carson Williams with Arkansas State University, Vontae McDonald with East Central Community College, Navonteque Strong and Martavious Barlow with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Congratulations and best wishes to these young men as they follow their dreams of playing football on the college level.
Scott Central Attendance Center will be accepting Valentines Deliveries on Thursday, February 14th. These deliveries will be accepted in the gymnasium from 1:00-1:45 p.m. No deliveries will be taken before 1:00. Each gift should include the student’s first and last name, grade, and last period teacher. No balloons will be accepted. Please share this information with all parents and businesses that may be delivering Valentine gifts.
The Forest-Scott County Career and Technology Center recently hosted an induction ceremony for students who qualified for admission into the National Technical Honor Society. Ten students from Scott Central were inducted: Jocey Bell, Steven Smith, Diem Mi Pham, Tabitha Mcdaniel, Patrick Normile, Darion Bobbitt, Jessie Reiss, Dominic Lacy, Tierra Lyle and Magen Burnham.
