Thanksgiving holidays flew by,
Christmas holidays
only four weeks away
The holiday season is in full swing. The Thanksgiving holidays just flew by and mine was great, despite the fact that my three favorite teams (SC, MSU and Bama) all came up short. However, I was blessed to spend time with my family and celebrate the birthdays of my two youngest children.
Of course, this also meant that in addition to all the rich Thanksgiving food and pies, we had two birthday cakes. I can relate to Mrs. Irene Martin when she said that “I didn’t even eat supper — I mean, 3 desserts?”
Visiting us for Thanksgiving were Justin and Lindsey Jones, Virginia Thrash, Arnold Martinez, Chase Hall, Victoria and Joseph Sanders. I am indeed thankful, grateful and blessed!
Thanksgiving guests of Irene Martin were Steve, Karon, Russell, Mary, and Tara Martin, Dave, Kathy, Jacob, Jessica, Gage, Rainy, and Gabby Lee, Anne, Sains, Connor and Logan Steptoe, Harperville; Belinda and Scott Barnes, Mendenhall, Don Rutland, Lindsay, Preston and Nolan Stephens, Brandon. The festivities also included a celebration of Rainy Lee's sixth birthday.
We have many activities planned at Harperville Baptist during Advent. The theme this year is “The Miracle of Christmas.”
The Men’s Ministry Breakfast is the first activity on December 3rd at 8:00 a.m. and all men and boys are invited. The following Sunday, December 10th, we will share more good food and fellowship at our Annual Holiday Potluck Meal after the morning service.
That same evening our extremely talented choir will present, “There’s Something About That Name.” at 6:00 p.m. The Women’s ministry will host their annual Christmas Ornament Swap at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th. We will have an early service on Christmas Eve at 10:00 a.m.
We have just four short weeks of school before we are out again for Christmas Holidays and we have just four short weeks to get all our Christmas shopping done!
