Cindy’s Concessions dedication is Monday
Scott Central students attended the Future Business Leaders of America District Conference at ECCC on February 14th. The following students placed in their divisions and will be moving on the state competition on March 23rd: Nic Boswell, 1st Place in Multimedia and Web Design; Dewayne Cox, 2nd Place in Multimedia and Web Design; Tamiah Towsend, Ashanti Murrell and Alli Hollingsworth, 2nd Place in Community Service Project. Sponsors of FBLA are Tammy McDowell, Kimberly Watkins and Tanner Fortenberry.
The Scott Central Gift Students attend the ECTAG Chess Competition at Neshoba Central Elementary on February 15th. The students competed in four divisions based on age. Division I first place winners were Jake Bell, Emily Stewart, Dylan Cahoon, Zoe Stephens, and Brooklyn Chisolm. Division III first place winners were Jose Garcia, Eli Stewart, Brennan Gardner, Caden Martin and Tyler Carson. Second place winners in Division II were Chris McClendon, Quindaysha Thames, Sherley Ortiz, Kinsley Woods and Miley Warren. Division IV second place winners were Jesse Van Fleet, Diem Mi Pham, Tori Thrash, Philip Bulloch, Ashton Tatum, LaJavis Patrick, Braiden Chisolm, Josh Bates, PJ Normile and Cody Gilbert. Earning the designation of Chess Master by winning all or the most games in their division were Zoe Stephens, Quindaysha Thames, Jose Garcia, Diem Mi Pham and Braiden Chisolm. Students are coached by Mrs. Gina Reiss.
On Monday, February 25, 2019, during the Scott County Baseball Tournament, being hosted at Scott Central’s Polk-Stowers Field, Scott Central will dedicate the concession stand in memory of Cindy Craig Harrell. During this Dedication Ceremony we will recognize Cindy’s family, have the sign “Cindy’s Concessions” placed permanently on our field’s press box, have a special presentation by State Representative Tom Miles, display fireworks sponsored by Coach’s Fireworks, and her son will throw a special first pitch. The dedication will take place between the 5 p.m. game of Morton vs Lake and the 7 p.m. game of Forest vs Scott Central. Family, friends, and our community are invited to attend.
