Awareness Month
SC Gifted students participated in the ECTAG Art in the Park competition again this year. Thirty-four students ranging from the second grade to 12th grade competed in various divisions and categories and brought home 45 awards. The Scott Central students were awarded 12 Third Place ribbons, 6 Second Place ribbons, and 22 First Place ribbons.
Five students were awarded Best in Show. Those students were Quindaysha Thames in Handmade Jewelry, Sherley Ortiz in Printmaking, Lauren Smith in Miscellaneous Art, Jocey Bell in Original Books and Diem Mi Pham in Acrylic on Canvas. Mrs. Gina Reiss teaches the gifted classes at Scott Central.
Scott Central held its annual Beauty and Beau Pageant on Saturday with 46 entrants. Chosen as Most Beautiful were: Kindergarten Division, Alyssa Woods, 1st Grade Division, Laila Lowe, 2nd/3rd Grade Division, Ava White, 4th Grade Division, Jimma Bell, and 5th/6th Grade Division, Makayla Odom. Makayla was also named as Elementary Most Photogenic. Most Handsome in Elementary was Hunter McGehee and Most Photogenic was Jimmie Broomfield. In the Junior High Division, Reagan Lowe was chosen as Most Beautiful.
Olivia Triplett was chosen as Most Beautiful in the High School Division. Olivia was also named as Most Photogenic. High School Beauties were Victoria Thrash, Chryselynn Martin, Jocey Bell, Danny Warren and Tabitha McDaniel.
A Bridal Shower will be held at Harperville Baptist Church on Sunday, April 7th at 2:00 p.m., in honor of Courtney McDaniel, bride-elect of Colton Adcox. All family and friends of the couple are invited. The bride is registered at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
