Thankful no lives lost
Despite the terrible destruction to homes and property of our friends around the county, and especially those in Morton, we are thankful that no lives were lost during the storms. And after the terrible weather on Thursday, we were blessed with nearly perfect weather on Saturday and Sunday.
Harperville Baptist Church had early services for Resurrection Sunday with an amazing cantata by our incredibly talented choir. It was a mix of classic and contemporary music with solos by Kathy Lee, Letha Brantley and Mike Gaddis. The weeks of practice were evident as they presented a heartfelt and worshipful presentation in honor of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We appreciate our choir members and our director, Tonja Madison, for their dedication and their willingness to share their vocal gifts. After the cantata, a silent communion was observed.
Guests of Irene Martin during the Easter weekend were Steve, Karon, Mary and Tara Martin, Zach Whittington, Wayne, Cathy, Elijah and Justus Harvey, Shannon and Danny Warren, all of Harperville and Forest, Raymond and Jeanette Noel, New Orleans, and Megan Murray, South Carolina, an online friend of Tara Martin who was visiting in Mississippi.
