Bible Drills
Vacation Bible School will be happening soon at Harperville Baptist. The dates of July 25-27 have been set for the annual event. On Thursday, July 25th and Friday, July 26th, VBS will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. VBS will conclude the following Saturday morning, July 27th, from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Any child living or visiting in the community, 3K to the 5th grade, is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Eight children who participate in HBC Bible Drills, many for the first time, gave a presentation to the church during the evening services. They showed their knowledge of the Bible acquired over just a few months of practice. Afterwards, an ice cream fellowship was enjoyed by those in attendance and the evening service concluded with a fireworks display provided by Will Boswell.
Deepest condolences to our community friends who have recently lost loved ones: the Mike Sturrup family, the Andy Boyt family and the Jeanette Noel family.
Recent visitors of Irene Martin included Betty Jones and her granddaughter, Jerilynn Crosby with Betty's annual birthday gift of straight out of the frying pan apple tarts. Pat Hodges and grandson Hayden visited with supper for Irene. Also visiting Irene were Katrina Wright, Sinta and Shagreata Roberson, Shareatha Spell, Anniston, Alabama and Rev. Smith Butler, Harperville. All are descendants of the Butlers with ties to Irene’s family, the Burnhams, going back to the early 1800s.
