Another Super Bowl down in the books. My favorite teams did not make it to this year’s game, but I liked that the Kansas City Chiefs won for the first time in 50 years with a young quarterback and an older coach. The half-time show, however, I wish I had never watched. A few years ago there was a scandalous moment with the “wardrobe malfunction” of Janet Jackson. That incident seems very minor now in comparison with the vulgarity on display last night. Until the half-time show, the NFL had restored some of my respect by honoring the military and the American Flag.
Speaking of military, SC Senior, Waylon Crimm, recently enlisted with the U.S. Marines. He will report for basic training in September. We are proud of his commitment and know that he will make an outstanding Marine.
