Less than a year ago, none knew about what appeared as a pandemic months ago. Nor did we even imagine the consequences for health and our social coexistence and emotions. The reality shows positive and negative things that from the spiritual point of view it is not easy to discern for a Christian.
For Christians, there are commandments in the Bible that we must respect and strive to follow, unfortunately, we see a high percentage of people who have forgotten these commandments and ignore that they were inspired by God for our life on earth. A clear example are those who question what science reveals to us and do not hesitate to put politics before revealing personal ambitions over medicine and health sciences. It is certainly something that we should be concerned with regarding our future.
Respecting the isolation and quarantine measures is positive for everything. We personally have time to do things that we don’t normally do. We have time to meditate or think about mistakes made, time to repent, to approach our loved ones, time to pray and fellowship. Our Lord when he washed the feet of his disciples gave us an example of several things. “You called me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.” John 13:13-15 ESV
As Christians we belong to Jesus, and He bought it and paid dearly for us to be different. The devil uses different ways to reach the hearts of men and destroy them, and we must know that there are many wolves who lead covered in sheep’s clothing. Jesus Christ taught us that nothing can lower us in this case if we obey the advice of scientists whose wisdom is evidently a gift given by God. These health professionals give their lives researching for the good of humanity. They are different from those who engage in politics and lie for the sole purpose of satisfying their personal ambitions without regard to the good of society.
Our future should be different from what life was before the pandemic. Racism, violence and the enormous inequalities that have divided the nation, should give way to a truly Christian world. That means a world with more love, friendship, equality, generosity, above all of the leaders who run the communities and the nation. It is the only way to earn the necessary respect among all human beings even if they think ideologically differently. “Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater that the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” John 13 16-17 ESV
Duties in a Christian world are mutual, and we must all accept each other as brothers. If someone does not follow the principles found in the Holy Scriptures, they should not call themselves a Christian. There is a whole call to think and meditate on everything that is happening. Our Father is merciful and we thank the wise men who try to lead us and help us to overcome this pandemic as soon as possible.
May God bless you.
