The Lie is God’s Denial
The denial of God is always rooted in lies and ignorance of the testimony that our Lord gives us each day. The advance of communications due to the digital world, is not giving a good testimony to new generations. The so-called millennials have adopted a habit of living in addiction to the social network and the intensive use of “smart” phones.
It seems incredible that many people believe anything they read on social media and make political decisions that affect the nations. Few realize that the world’s political and economic powers are at war and permanent competition by hiring espionage services and manipulators called hackers with the sole purpose of influencing the elections of democratic countries like ours. Although many do not want to admit it, this is a reality that we face every day. The most powerful nations of the world are in a silent cybernetic war that we hardly perceive. The deep discord that exists in today’s society is a tangible sign of what I am saying.
“There are six things that Lord hates, seven are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.” (Proverbs 6:6-19 ESV) All those sins are harmful to the well-being of human life and we as Christians should discard those customs by praying against them and avoiding being guilty of them, whatever their rank or position.
God abhors lying because it destroys the understanding of reality and makes us walk in darkness. “If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth” (1 John 1:6 ESV)
Watch out! God does not maintain communion with souls who walk in darkness and are ungodly. In them there is no truth in their confession and they show foolishness and falsehood. We should never forget that, in spite of being sinners, God provided an effective and sufficient Sacrifice for sin. “If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10 ESV)
The Spirit of truth will not lie; and teaches all things necessary for our knowledge of God in Christ, and his glory in the gospel. The truth is always more powerful than the lie because the lie creates distrust and finally no one will believe in falsehoods.
May God bless you.
