God’s ways are much better than ours!!!
“Teach me, O Lord, to follow your decrees (Your plans); then I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.” (Psalm 119:33-35)
It’s a wonderful feeling when we are obeying God. Doing what He desires brings us peace and rest. When we totally surrender to Him, we are filled with His love and peace (completeness).
Choosing to deliberately walk in sin, disobedience, and pride makes us miserable. We feel like the prodigal son who partied for a while, but eventually became miserable for choosing to live a life of sin. He became remorseful for disobeying his father’s will.
Has there been a time when you strayed away from God and felt miserable and made everyone around you miserable? Sure, we have all been there! “We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Thankfully, God doesn’t categorize sin. Sin is sin. But because of His love and the sacrifice of Jesus, there is forgiveness, restoration and direction!
“Come now, let us reason together says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18) Did you get that? No matter your past, God can restore your life better than it was before!
His Word tells us that no matter what we have done or said, we have forgiveness in Him. He’ll forgive with grace, gently restore us better than before and give us direction. Yes, we will become wiser because we have learned from our mistakes.
As the prodigal son repented to his father and was restored to his rightful place, we also will be restored to our rightful place. Friends, God forgives and never holds grudges against His children for what we have done. We should follow the life of Jesus and do the same for others. Love and forgive!
Loving God with all our heart is the key to obeying. Listening to God is the key to following Him down our path of life.
“You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:14-15)
Since we have all made mistakes and made wrong decisions by not following God’s plan at some time in our lives, let’s choose today to follow His will and plan. His ways are truly better than ours!
Don’t wait til next Sunday to get your life right with God. Do it now! He’s waiting for you!
Remember, He loves you unconditionally! Your past is forgiven and forgotten!
Prayer changes everything!
