When nothing seems to be happening, something is happening!
Have you ever experienced this feeling? You pray, give thanks, and wait and wait, only to feel that God has totally forgotten you?
“Wait for the Lord, and He will deliver you.” (Proverbs 20:22)
This scripture is our answer! His word says that He will not break His promises. He will answer our prayers. Let’s wait on Him to answer!
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance…. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation.” (2 Peter 3: 9,15) (Salvation means God’s continuous work in our lives, a daily process for us to be more like Jesus.)
Do you see God working in your situation or crisis? When we look around and see nothing happening in our lives, something is happening! The Holy Spirit is continuously working whether we can see it or not. Praise God, He answers prayers! We don’t need to “rush” or help God with answers to our prayers, but instead relax and wait, understanding that He sees the big picture and is an all-knowing Heavenly Father. God always comes through with what’s best for us and His timing is always perfect!
“I declare that God has a great plan for my life. He is directing my steps. And even though I may not always understand how, I know my situation is not a surprise to God. He will work out every detail to my advantage. In his perfect timing, everything will turn out right. This is my declaration.” Joel Osteen.
This is a powerful declaration that we should speak daily to strengthen our faith during the waiting period. The more we confess with our lips, the more our faith will grow! Yes, He is directing our steps and working out every detail for our advantage! Why? Because we are His children and He loves us!
Instead of looking at the clock or calendar with discouragement, let’s rejoice that God is always at work in our lives! We can be confident that when we give our requests to Him, it will be a beautiful plan! Down the road of life we will look back and see that His timing wasn’t early or late, but perfect. I’m thankful that God doesn’t answer my prayers when I want them answered, but instead answers when the time is best. The waiting period is usually a teaching time for us as we learn to trust Him in all matters.
So when you feel nothing is happening, rejoice because something is happening!
Let’s continue praying in faith that He will answer! Prayer changes everything! It isn’t begging or trying to persuade God. Prayer builds our faith to believe His promises!
If you’re discouraged today, take a deep breath and remember Jesus is the answer! Jesus is your answer!
