Are you losing sleep due to stress and worry?
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Have you felt confused about which decision to make or which direction to take regarding your life? It is not God’s will that we remain confused or at a loss of what to do. God’s heart is to direct us each step “if” we will follow and listen to His voice. There is absolutely no confusion with God’s will! Yes, following His will brings peace to our lives. Think of Jesus, who is the light of the world. It’s like a big flashlight shining down a very dark path. With the light, we can see and won’t stumble or get lost.
Jesus said, “I am the way, truth, and light.”
Today is a wonderful day for you to decide to surrender your problems, situations, decisions, and circumstances to God. When you pray and give your problems to God, you’ll receive an assurance that He will answer; and His “peace” will calm your worries and stress. Just as Jesus calmed the storm in the Bible, Jesus will calm your storm no matter how fierce it might be at the moment.
Friends, do we really trust that He will take care of our problems and what we’re facing? Sadly, when we choose to take things into our own hands to “help” God, we end up with sleepless night, wringing hands, headaches, and a mess!
Jesus is truth!
Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth (Jesus) will set you free.” (John 8: 31-32)
Set us free? Yes! He will set us free from the confusion and worry over decision-making and which road to travel regarding our life.
Do you remember these old hymns that were probably written from someone’s life journey, “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus...” or “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus...” The more time we spend with our Father in prayer and relationship, the easier it becomes to “let go” of those negative worries and trust Him to lead and guide us.
His ways are much better! Thankfully, He sees the big picture that we don’t see.
“Heavenly Father, I don’t understand what to do. I’m attacked with confusion, worry, doubt, fear, and stress. I surrender these negatives to you, believing you will lead me through the “valley of the shadow of death.” I choose to rely on you and not fear, doubt, and worry. I know and believe you will answer because you love me and I’m your child! Thank you for freedom from the burdens I have been carrying and thank you for peace.
Today, I choose to be thankful with a grateful heart! In Jesus’ name, amen.”
